The Quechua People

There are many indigenous groups in the world, but one that particularly interested me was the Quechua people, indigenous of the Andes in South America. Something that caught my interest about these people was something about their language. Their are a number of Quechua languages, but they are on the verge of going extinct. The number of Quechua speakers is getting smaller and smaller as time goes on. Some tourist activities associated with the Quechua people include hiking the “Inca trail, exploring Machu Picchu, the ‘Lost City of the Incas’,  and going on river rating trips down the Urubamba River.
